Kevin Murphy has established himself as a trailblazer in the hairstyling industry over his decades long career. The go-to stylist for the coveted ‘Beach Hair’ look, a distinctive style that carved his niche within the fashion landscape, Kevin’s editorial work has graced the covers of major global publications such as Vogue and Harpers Bazaar.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Kevin began his career at Smithers Salon in Australia where learnt the craft of hairstyling. His dedication to mastering the craft led him to the prestigious Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, marking a pivotal moment in shaping his signature style.
In 2004, the KEVIN.MURPHY brand was born with a range of 7 naturally derived, texture-driven products with the guiding principle of being kind to the hair and to the environment. Today, KEVIN.MURPHY products are sold in over 60 countries, with over 150 products in the portfolio, including multiple colour lines such as KEVIN.MURPHY+COLOR.ME and KEVIN.MURPHY+BLONDE.

“The lack of products that performed as I needed them to perform on a shoot forced me to go beyond conventional hair products and look into the advancements being made with skincare. I wanted to create a range that in the hands of a stylist would change the characteristics of the hair and also take hair trends in new directions.”
